Apara  Karuna  sindhum jnadham  santha  roopinam

Sri  Chandrasekara  gurum pranamami mudhanvaham

 

The shore less ocean of mercy,He who  imparts  wisdom, He who has  peaceful form

I salute   the Guru  Chandra shekara  with  very  great joy

 

Charanam 1

குருவார ஸபா த்வாரா சாஸ்த்ர ஸம்ரக்ஷணம் க்ருதம்

அநூராதா ஸபா த்வாரா வேத ஸம்ரக்ஷணம் க்ருதம்

 

Guru vara  sabha  dwaraa sasthra  samrakshanam kritham

Anuradha  sabha  dwaraa veda samrakshanam  kritham

 

Throug  the  Thursday  meetings, he  protected the sastras

Thought  the Anusha  star  meetings he protected  the Vedas

 

Charanam 2

மார்கசீர்ஷ மாஸவரே ஸ்தோத்ரபாட ப்ரசாரணம்

வேதபாஷ்ய ப்ரசாரார்த்தம் ரத்நோத்ஸவ நிதி: க்ருத:

 

Margaseersha  masavare stotra paada pracharanam

Veda  bhashya  pracharartham rathnothsava nidhi kritha

 

In the  month of Margzhy(December-January), He used to  propagate learning of prayers,

For  popularising the commentary  of Vedas, he greated a trust called Rathnothsava

கர்மகாண்ட ப்ரசாரார்த்தம் வேததர்மஸபா க்ருதா

வேதாந்தார்த்த ப்ரசாரார்த்தம் வித்யாரண்ய நிதி: க்ருத:

 

Karma kanda  pracharartham Veda  dharma  sabha  kruthaa

Vedantha  artha  pracharartham Vidhyaranya nidhi kritha

 

For  popularising the  duties  of people , he created the Veda  Dharma sabha

For popularising meaning  of Vedantha, he created, the Vidhyaranya  trust

 

Charnam4

சிலாலேக ப்ரசாரார்த்தம் உட்டங்கித நிதி: க்ருத:

கோப்ராஹ்மண ஹிதார்த்தாய வேதரக்ஷண கோநிதி:

 

Sila lekha pracharatham uddangitha  nidhi  krutha

Go brahana  hitharthaya veda  rakshna  go nidhi

 

For puopularising  the   wall  writings  he created  the elevated  trust

For protections of cows and Brahmins, he created  the protections of Vedas and cow trust

 

Charanam 5

கோசாலா பாடசாலா ச குருபிஸ் தத்ர நிர்மிதே

பாலிகாநாம் விவாஹார்த்தம் கந்யாதன நிதி: க்ருத:

 

Gosala , Pata salaa cha d gurubi sthathra nirmithe

Balikaanaam vivahartham , kanya  dhana nidhi kritha

 

There he established  cow  protection farm as well as  Vedic schools

For  the sake  of marriage of maids, he created the marriage of girl’s  trust

 

Charanam 6

தேவார்ச்சகாநாம் ஸாஹ்யார்த்தம் கச்சிமூதூர் நிதி: க்ருத:

பாலாவ்ருத்தாதுராணாம் ச வ்யவஸ்த்தா பரிபாலனே

 

Deva  archakaanaam   sahayaartham kachimudhoor  nidhi kritha

Bala  vridha aathuraanam  cha vyavastha paripalane

 

For helind priests who worship in temples, he created  the Kachimoodhu trust

He also made arrangements to look after the needy   children  and  old people

 

Charanam 7

அநாதப்ரேத ஸம்ஸ்காராத் அச்வமேத பலம் லபேத்

இதி வாக்யாநுஸாரேண வ்யவஸ்த்தா தத்ர கல்பிதா

 

Anadha pretha  samskaarath aswamedha phalam labeth

Ithi vakhya anusaranena vyavastha thathra  kalpitha

 

By doing  the  cremation of dead body of orphans,you get result  of doing Aswamedha yaga

Following this  saying, he made  arrangements to do that

 

Charanam 8

யத்ர ஸ்ரீ பகவத்பாதை: க்ஷேத்ர பர்யடனம் க்ருதம்

தத்ர தேஷாம் சிலாமூர்த்திம் ப்ரதிஷ்ட்டாப்ய சுபம் க்ருதம்

 

Yathra sri BHagawath padhai , kshethra  paryatanam kritham.

THathra  theshaam sila  moorthim  Prathishtabhya  Shubham kritham

 

When the sage goes to pilgrimage on foot,

There he consecrated  God’s vigrahas and made them holy

 

Charnam 9

பக்தவாஜிசாபி ஸித்த்யர்த்தம் நாம தாரக லேகனம்

ராஜதம் ச ரதம் க்ருத்வா காமாக்ஷ்யா: பரிவாஹணம்

 

Baaktha vanchidapi  sidhyartham nama thraka  lekanam

Rajatham cha  radham kruthwa Kamakshyaa Parivahanam

 

For getting desires of devotees fulfilled, he has to write name of “Rama”

Andhe created royal chariot and made  Goddess Kamakshi ride

 

Charanam 10

காமாக்ஷ்யம்பா விமாநஸ்ய ஸ்வர்ணபத்ரைஸ் ஸமாவ்ருதி:

ததைவோத்ஸவ காமாக்ஷயா: ஸ்வர்ணவர்ம பரிஷ்க்ருதி:

 

Kamakshyamba  vimanaya swarna pathrai  samavrithi

Thathu uthsava  kamakshyaa swarna varma  parishkrithi

 

He arranged to coat  the vimana(tower over goddess) with golden leaves,

And in festival  of Kamakshi, he arranged it to be coated  with golden colour

 

Chapter 11

 

லலிதாநாம ஸாஹஸ்ர ஸ்வர்ணமாலா விராஜதே

ஸ்ரீதேவ்யா: பர்வகாலேஷு ஸுவர்ண ரத சாஸனம்

 

Lalitha  nama sahasre swarna  mala  virajathe

Sri devya parva kaaleshu swarna  Radha  sasanam

 

The golden garlamd with Lalalitha sahasranama shines  in her

And in the festival  season of of the godess she rides on golden chariot

 

Charanam 12

சிதம்பர நடேசஸ்ய சுவைடூர்ய கிரீடகம்

கரே-அபயப்ரதே பாதே குஞ்சிதே ரத்னபூஷணம்

 

Chidambara  natesasya suvaidurya  kireedakam

Kare  abhaya  pradhe kunchithe rathna bhooshanam

 

He also got made  crown with good Vaidurya(cat’s eye) to Lord Nararaja  of Chidambaram

In  his hand showing protection and feet, the curved  gem decoration was got made

 

Charanam 13

முஷ்டி தண்டுல தானேன தரித்ராணாம் ச போஜனம்

ருக்ணாலயே பகவத: ப்ரஸாத விநியோஜநம்

 

Mushti  thandula  dhaanena daridraanam BHojanam

Rugnaalaye bhagawatha prasada  viniyojanam

 

He arranged to provide meals to the pooby charity of one clasp of rice

He also arranged to distribute Prasada(offering to God, in hospital

 

Charanam 14

லோகக்ஷேம ஹிதார்த்தாய குருபிர் பஹுதத் க்ருதாம்

ஸ்மரன் தத்வந்தனம் குர்வன் ஜன்ம ஸாபல்யமாப்னுயாத்.

 

Loka kshema hitharthaya  gurubhir bahu thath  kruthaam

Smaran than vandanam   kurvan  janma saphalya maapnuyath

 

For the good of people of the world, the Guru has done lot of things

Remembering that and saluting him , would make your life fruitful

Yen manam urugi ,kaneer

Vazhithu oduthe  , Muruka

 

Oh Skanda  if I come  dancing with a  Kavadi

My mind melts and my tears

Ebbs   and flows , Oh Muruka

சேவடி தந்தாளும் செல்வம் அருள் குமரா                                      பாவடி தந்தாளும் பாடியாடி களிக்க உன்

 

Sevadi thandhu  aalum  selvam arul, Kumara

THanthalum  Paadi aadi kalikka

Please bless me with the  wealth of your feet

Give steps of verse and rule so that  I Can sing   and dance

 

சரணம் 1

பால் பொங்குதே தென் பழனி மாமலையில் அன்பர்              

கால் மாறி விளையாடும் காக்ஷி எல்லாம் காண

வேல் ஏந்தி விளையாடும் வேலா வடிவேலா                   

வேதாந்த நிலை காட்டி ஆண்டருள்வாய் அப்பா உன்

Paal ponguthe , then pazhani mamalayil, anbar

Kaal  maari  vilayadumm   kakshi yelaam  kana

Vel yenthi vilayadum  Vela  Vadivelaa

Vedandha  nilai  kaatti   aandarulvai appa(un)

 

In the southern pazhani mountain  , the milk is boiling

To see   the dance  with shuffling of   legs,

Oh Vela  carrying the Vel and playing

And show  us  the  philosophival vision , please rule us

அன்பரெல்லாம் பணிந்து “அரோஹரா” என்றால் என் அங்கமெல்லாம் நெகிழ்ந்து அசைந்தாடுதே முருகா

ஆவேசக் கலை காட்டி ஆட்டி வைத்தாய் அப்பா                

ஆனந்த நிலை காட்டி கூட்டி வைத்தாய் அப்பா உன்        

 

Anbarellam paninthu “arohara”yendraal yen

Angamellam negizhndhu asainthaaduthe  Murukaa

AAvesa  Kalai  Kaatti  AAtti vaithai Appa

AAnanda  nilai kaatti  kootti   vaithai appa(un)

 

When all your devotees saluting say  “arohara”

THen all my limbs melts and shakes, oh Muruka

Showing the art of deep ecstacy , you shook me

Showed me the state of joy, and blessed me

Oh  Greatly  merciful ocean  , who is wise  , who has a  peaceful form

गुरुवार सभाद्वारा  शास्त्र संरक्षणम् कृतम्।
अनुराधा सभाद्वारा वेद संरक्षणम् कृतम्॥ 2

guruvAra sabhadwara  shAstra samrakSaNam krtam

anUrAdhA sabhadwara  vEda samrakSaNam krtam

 

He who protected  Sasthras  through meetings on thursday

He who  protected  Vedas by meeting on Anusham star

मार्गशीर्षे मासवारे स्तोत्र पाठ प्रचारणम्।
वेद भाष्य प्रचारार्थम रत्नोत्सव निधिः कृतः॥ 3

mArga shIrshE mAsavaarE stOtra pATa pracAraNam

vEda bhASya pracArArtam ratnNOtsava nidhihi krtaha

 

He who popularized  Stotras  in weeks   of Margazhi month

He who created Gem festiva;  for popularizing the explanation of Vedas

कर्मकाण्ड प्रचारार्थम् वेद धर्म सभा कृता।
वेदान्तार्थ प्रचारार्थम् विद्यारण्य निधिः कृतः॥ 4

 

karmakAnda pracArArtam vEda dharma sabhA krtA

vEdantArtha pracArArtam vidyAraNya nidhihi krtaha

 

For popularizing   ritual and rites he created  Vedha Dharma sabha

For popularizing meaning of Vedanths , he made The  Vidhyaranya  trust

शिलालेख प्रचारार्थम् उट्टङ्कित निधिः कृतः।
गोब्राह्मण हितार्थाय वेदरक्षण गो निधिः॥ 5

shilA lEka pracArArtam uttanggita nidhihi krtaha

gO-brAhmaNa hitArtAya vEda rakSaNa kO nidhihi

 

For popularizing the stone  writing  he created a trust of  Sculpture trust

For  the sake of goodness  of Brahmins and cows he created the Veda  Raksha trust  

 

caraNam 6

 

गोशाला पाठशाला च गुरुभिस्तत्र निर्मिते ।
बालिकानाम् विवाहार्थम्  कन्यादान निधिः कृतः॥ 6

 

gO-shAlA pAThashAlA cha gurubiSThatra nirmitE

bAlikAnaAm vivAhArtham kanyAdAna nidhihi krtaha

 

Guru created  a cow shed   and shool there itself

For the marriage of  maids, he created a trust for marriage

 

caraNam 7

 

देवार्चकानाम् साह्यार्थम् कच्चिमूदूर् निधिः कृतः।
बाल वृद्धा दुराणाम् च  व्यवस्था परिपालने ॥ 7

dEvArcakANAm sAhayArtam kacchimOtOr nidhihi krtaha

bAla vrdhdhAturANAm ca vyavasthA paripAlanE

 

He created a trust for help of priests   of tamples in Kanchi mata

He also created  facilities for helping sufferingseniors and children

 

caraNam 8

 

अनाथ प्रेत सम्स्कारात्  अश्वमेध फलं लभेत् ।
इति वाक्यानुसारेन  व्यवस्था तत्र कल्पिता ॥ 8

 

anAda prEta samskArAt asvamEda phalam labEt

iti vAkyAnu sArENa vyavastA tatra kalpitA

 

By cremation  of a   dead body of orphan we  we will get  effect of doing Aswa medha
