English translation
Pallavi
Oh husband of Sita, never tell me that you cannot save me
Anupallavi
Why should I write the story of the devotes whom you saved
Charanam
From within a pillar, from behind the tree*, as a child,
In the lap of Yasoda, appearing and vanishing from the proud Muchkunda,
You have been happening from ages to ages,
And those you know you know Khumbaka and Rechaka**,
And Thyagaraja says , that , all this was ,
To satisfy the requests of your devotees.
Note. *He appeared as Narasimha from inside the pillar and as the naughty Krishna from behind the tree.
**Kumbaka and Rechaka are yogic inhalation and exhalation.
In which raga is this song composed?
