English translation
Pallavi
Suppose you had father and mother,
Would these disgraces come to you, Oh Lord?
Anupallavi
Oh God of the temple who dances endlessly,
If you had father and mother,
Who gave birth to you with love ,
And brought you up with unity,
Would these disgraces come?
Charanam
1.When the mason shaped one stone , beat it and made you,
When Kannappa used his slippers to cover you,
And when Arjuna beat you with his mighty bow,
Oh Lord , did your body pain too much?
2. When without hesitation one man cut you with an axe,
When in a crowd one cursed you as lunatic and a devil ,
When the king of Madhurai beat you with his stick,
Oh Lord whom did you think of at that time?
3.When one bad lady spit her saliva ,
And another one who has scolded you,
Climbed on your head and very easily,
This was seen by Balakrishna and ,
Did this not become the talk of the town?
