(   (Durgai Sidhar  is a sidha  of modern times   who has  his jeeva Samadhi in Padappai  Chennai  .He has   written 66  prayers   and 12  songs  most  of them dedicated  to Goddess  Durga ,His  Ishta  deivam  seems to be Swarnakarshana Bhairavar.Two of his songs deal  with Philosophy)

Near  the ocean with beating waves, when the peacock  wings dances,

Oh  Shiva Shanmuka of Thiruchendur    who became a  statue

With stable blessings singing poem , ruling over me,

Oh Andi of the temple Oh Guha  , Oh shanmukha, dear  shanmukha

Marai  paadum deviyum , malayaalum  chelviyum ,

Iraiva  , un sukhamallavaa,

Niraivaana  selvamum , nilai aayul sidhiyum,

Viraivaaka   yenakku   eendhavaa   (alai paayum..)

Are not   a goddess  singing Vedas  , and  a girl ruling over  the mountain,

Oh God  , your pleasure,

Oh God, who speedily  gave Large wealth  , stable life   and powers, to me.

Iraiva  , yen manam yerinaai

Thiruvaana azhakaa, thirumalin  marukaa,

Kuruvaana  chiruvaa, udane  nee  varuvai

Though you sit  in six houses, Oh  God  , thinking,

That mind  is your house  , you  climbed there,

Hell and heaven  are  our mind only,

Independent  bird  is our character,

Do not mix sorrow  in happiness,

From now  on do not   forget love

Kannodu kanaamal thoongi  vital,

Kadavulum  kadaisiyil kai viduvar

If you move   with culture there is no sorrow,

If we drop ii impatiently , there will be noting left,

If  we sleep without eye  not seeind it  ,

Even God will  leave us out   at the end

Padippathai   thernthu  padithu vital,

Adithidum kaathum   arivu   tharum,

Madi ganam   indri nadanthu vital,

Adippadai   dukavum   anuvum illai

If whatever  read if we examine  and read,

Even the wind that blows will   give wisdom,

If we   walk   without   any burden,

The basic sorrow  is not at all there.

Vinnukkum  mannukkum  oru palam,

Vithaki  padappai  jaya durga

Without seeing what is in front of your eyes,

Do not roam about top see   God,

The bridge   between earth and heaven,

When will  you come  , to sit prettily there,

Oh  Gooddess who lives in Agasthya hills where golden flower spreads its scent,

Please  open your  flower  like  eyes  and  see only me.

Sangisai olithathu  Sankaran kovilil,

Angu naan vandhen ammayai  kana,

POngidum yezhili nee ponathu yenge,

Unnaye  thedi alaikindren amma (yen mana..)

In Sankaran kovil   the sound of conch boomed,

And I came    there   to see the mother,

Where did you who is the ebbing  beauty go?

Oh mother  , I wandering searching  only you

POthigayil uchiyil, un kural koduthai,

Pularnthathu, pularnthathu, yendru  naan vanthen,

Ularntha yen nenjam undhanai  thedi,

At the top of  Pothikai  mountain   you yelled,

I came thinking that  the dawn has come  , has come,

My dried mind    searching for you,

Searched  for your divine feet  and merged there.

Arul mazhi pozhiyum ammaye  vaaraai,

Irul nilai   vaaraa inbame  thaarai,

POrulmani, pon mani, kanmani, yen mani,

Inmani, paarmani, padappai  vaazh maniye  (yen mana..)

Oh mother  who rains   your blessings , please come,

Please give me sweetness which never allows darkness  to come,

Gem of wealth , golden gem , darling, My gem,

Sweet gem, Please  see gem, Oh Gem who lives  in Padappai

Karunai mozhi  pozhiyum  karpaka  thaaye,

Unthan   kazhalkalai nambiye , kathangal vanthen,

Arunai  malai  methu  oli  nee  thanthai,

Arukinil  vanthida  thamatham yeno?

Oh Karpaka mother  , who  rains  kindness,

Believing in your feet, I came   several miles,

You gave  light in the  mountain of sun rise,

Why this delay to come near  me.

Karunai malarkalai moodi nee nindraal,

Kannindri  nirkkum naan  yengu chelven,

Marulum   Mayakkamum yenakken  vanthathu,

Mangaye  pothinen, malanai  vanthathu.

If you close   the flower of kindness  and stand  ,

Where   will I  go, who am blind,

Why ignorance    and confusion came to me  .

Oh lady I praised you  and the  bed of flowers came
