This song was composed by one Tamil Lady Saint Aavudaiyakkal (ஆவுடையக்காள்) lived about 350 years back.  She is regarded equivalent to Avvayyaar, Karaikkal Ammaiyar, AkkamaaDevi etc.  History says that She has composed many simple verses which were close to Sri Subramanya Bharathi’s heart. I enjoyed this song…….

பிராரப்த கர்மம் படுத்துகிற பாட்டை, பரதேவதே பாரம்மா, என்னம்பிகையே தீரம்மா.

 

Praptha karmam  paduthukira paattai , paradevathe paaramma

Yennambikaye  theeramma

 

Oh divine   goddess  please  see the   troubles caused  by the  karma

That  is earned, Oh mother Ambika, please  put  an end it

Aarabdha  bogamumaasakthiyu menamma, ambikaye  paramma

Jagadambikaye  theeramma

 

Why there  is great  desire to the pleasure  that has begun

Oh mother  Ambika please see, Oh mother  of universe put  an end to it

அகண்ட ரஸத்தை திகண்டே மகிழ்ந்திருந்து புசிக்கையிலும்,

 

கோடி வேதாந்த சாஸ்த்திரம் விசாரித்து பார்த்து நான் விஞ்ஞான மாகையிலும்,

அக்ஞானம் போக்கியே பிரக்ஞானம் தந்து ஸுக்ஞான மாகையிலும் (பிராரப்த)

 

AAgami  sanchitha  prarabdha   karmamu  azhukathu  irukkayilum

Aganda  rasathai thigande magizhnthirunthu  pusikkayilum

 

Koti  vedantha  sasthram  vicharithu paathu  naan vijnana maakayilum

Ajnana, pokkiye prakjnanam  thanthu sujnanamaakayilum

 

 Even The  karma that  we have earned which has  been accumulated, is without  dirt,

While  we with joy eat  the limitless  taste without  limit

after  enquiring one crore  of vedantha  sasthras and I become  scientific

drive out  ignorance, earn knowledge and make  what we  know as good
