Oh Kalyani  of the  city of Madhurai, Oh daughter of Matanga,

Anupallavi
Chathush kama  dhayini  , mrudu gaja gamini ,
Madhura vag vilasini, mani veena  Vadhani

Anupallavi
Oh Goddess who fulfills four types of desires  . Who  walks softly like an elephant  ,
Who shines   in her sweet speech  an who plays   the gem studded  Veena

Madhurapuri sodhari  , budha jana manohari   , chathurdala lokeswari, vidhukula   pavanakari,
Athulitha sugunakari  , vidhi sura nutha shankari , sritha bhakthapalanakari, satatam mamava  srikari.

Oh Sister of city of Madhura  , Who steals   the heart of the wise people  ,
Who is the goddess of the world with four petals , Who purifies the wise people,
Who is the matchless  with good character  , Who is   the Sankari worshipped by Brahma  and devas,
Who looks after devotees who surrender to her   and who always makes me prosperous.
