Varana mukhava varuvai , arulvai, dayavai

Anupallavi
Aarana porulaana Kanda karunamudhathirkkul udaviye, arul , madha

Charanam
Innisai , iyal ilakkiyam ariyum arivedu mindri,
kannal anai kandha,Ganamudha nannulai
unnum kavi kunjaradasan naan,
Unnarul konde panna thunindhen, munnavane nee mun nindrai,
Mudiyada thondrillai, aathalaal athi vegam aagave.

English meaning

Pallavi
Oh elephant faced one, come and please shower your grace

Anupallavi
Please shower your grace on the Kanda Ganarutham,
Which is the essence of Vedas, Oh powerful elephant faced one

Charanam
Without any knowledge of music , drama and literature
This poet Kunjara dasa is trying to create ,
This sugarcane sweet good book called Kanda Ganamrutham,
Completely depending on your grace ,
And oh primeval god if you lead me to do it,
There is nothing impossible , and so help me to do it quickly.
