கருணை என்னும் வாரிதியே
காஞ்சி நகர் பெரும் தவமே
காமகோடி பீடமதன் கதிரொளியே
கண்ணொளியால் அருள் வழங்கும் அற்புதமே
அருமறைத்தேன் பொழிமுகிலே
ஆனந்தப் பெருவெளியில் ஆடுகின்ற பூரணமே
தருணமதை நோக்காமல் காரணமும் கருதாமல்
தண்ணளியால் காமாக்ஷி தாயார் போல் முகமலர்ந்து
பரிவுடனே அபயகரம் காட்டும் ஒரு கற்பகமே
பாத மலரே தஞ்சமென்று வந்தடைந்தேன் ஏற்றருளே !!

Kanchi  nagar  perum thavame,

Kama koti peedam than peroliye

Kannoliyaal    arul vazhangum  arpudhame

Aru marai then pozhi mukhile

AAnanda   peru veliyil    aadukindra  pooraname

Tharunamathi  nokkaamal, karanamum  karuthamal

Thannaliyaal Kamakshi   thayaar  pol mukha malarnthu,

Parivudane abhayakaram  kaattum oar  karpagame,

Padha malare  thanjamendru vandhadainthen  yetharule

Oh kindness which is an ocean,

The great  penance  of city of Kanchi

The great luster  of  Kama koti  peedam,

Oh wonder which grants blessings by  the light of its eye,

Oh cloud which  showers  the honey of great Vedas

Oh complete one who dances  in the great open ground of joy,

With out bothering about  suitable time, without bothering about the cause

Oh wish giving tree, who has a pleasant face like Kamakshi with cool  rays,

And who with mercy  extends  his hand of help,

Taking that  your flower like  feet is my protection, I have   reached here  , please  accept me

Karanamindri  karunai  puriyum    kanchi  periyavaale

Oh  very great of  Kanchi   who does  mercy to you  without  any reason

அகில நாயகிக்கு தாடங்கம் சூட்டிய பராத்பரன்
அன்னை காமாக்ஷிக்கு பொற்கூரை வேய்ந்த தயாபரன்
வேதநெறி தழைக்க அறப்பணி செய்த குருபரன்
தரணியெல்லாம் திருப்பணி செய்த க்ருபாகரன்

Akhila nayakikku thadangam  choottiya parathparan,

Annai Kamakshikku  por koorai  veintha  Dhayaparan

Veda neri thazhaikka arappani cheitha   guru paran

Daraniyellam   thirppani  cheitha  krupakaran

The most divine one who  made  the goddess  of world anklets

The kindest one who   mage golden roof to mother  Kamakshi

He who did   charitable deeds for  the life according to Vedas   grow,

The merciful one  who did renovation(god’s deeds)   all over the world.

ஓர்த்து தெளிந்திடும் ஞான மூர்த்தி
வார்த்து வழிகாட்டும் ஒப்பிலா மூர்த்தி
பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்திடும் லாவண்ய மூர்த்தி
காத்து அருளிடும் கருணா மூர்த்தி

Oarthu  thelinthidum  jnana moorthi

Vaarthu  vazhi kaattum  oppila  moorthi

Parthu  magizhnthidum lavanya  moorthi

Kathu   arulidum   karuna moorthi

The  person of wisdom  who used to think   and become clear,

The incomparable one who gave  and showed  the way,

The pretty one  who observed  and became  glad

The merciful   one who  protected and blessed
