అంతరంగమెల్ల శ్రీహరికి ఒప్పించకుంటె

వింత వింత విధముల వీడునా బంధములు

vimta vimta vidhamula vIDunA bamdhamulu

If the mind is totally not entrusted in Srihari

Do the bonds separate in strange  eccentric ways?

చరణం 1

మనుజుడై ఫలమేది మరి జ్ఞాని యౌదాక

తనువెత్తి ఫలమేది దయగలుగుదాకా

ధనికుడై ఫలమేది ధర్మము సేయుదాక

పనిమాలి ముదిసితే పాసెనా భవము

manujuDai phalamEdi mari gnAniyoudAka

tanuvetti phalamEdi dayagalugudAkA

dhanikudai phalamEdi dharmamu sEyudAka

panimAli mudisitE pAsenA bhavamu

Where is the use of man then? Until (he) matures to become a stoic

Where is the use of attaining body? Until (one) gets compassion

Where is the use of being rich? Until (he) confers charity

Does the worldly sin go away by mere pastime, devoid of doing (one’s) duty?

చరణం 2

చదివియు ఫలమేది శాంతము కలుగుదాక

పెదవెత్తి ఫలమేది ప్రియమాడుదాకా

మదిగల్గి ఫలమేది మాధవుదలచుదాక

ఎదుట తాను రాజైతే ఏలెనా పరము

pedavetti phalamEdi priyamAdudAkA

madigalgi phalamEdi mAdhavudalachudAka

eduta tAnu rAjaitE ElenA paramu

Where is the use though of studying? Until peace is achieved

Where is the use of raising lips? Until one speaks loving words

Where is the use of holding to mind? Until one contemplates on Madhava

Just by befitting a king, can anyone reign the Beyond?

పావనుడై ఫలమేది భక్తి కలిగినదాక

జీవించి ఫలమేది చింత తీరుదాకా

వేవేల ఫలమేది వేంకటేశుగన్నదాక

భావించితా దేవుడైతే ప్రత్యక్షమౌనా

pAvanudai phalamEsi bhakti kaliginadAka

jIvimchiphalamEdi chimta tIrudAkA

vEvEla phalamEdi vEMkatEshugannadAka

bhAvimchitA dEvudaitE pratyakshamounA

Where is the use of being holy? Until one is full of devotion

Where is the use of living? Until sorrow ceases

Where is the use of possessing thousands (of things)? Until one sees Venkatesha

By turning into God by pure thought He comes into sight!!
