Oh Goddess whose form is beyond illusion,
Please  protect me,
Oh great  beauty of Tripura, Oh consort of Shankara

Mayamalava   gowla  deshamuna,
Mahimagala  doraluarchinchu easwari,
Kayajuni variki  prana kaanthaa Brahadheeswari ,
Kripa seya  valenu maa Guru guha swamiki ne dasudaithi,

In  the land  of Mayamalavagowla,
Oh Goddess   you are worshipped  by Lords,
By chanting  your greatness,
Oh great Goddess  who is life like  consort of the enemy of  God of love(Bodiless one)
Please   show your mercy , if I am the servant of the teacher  Lord Subramanya,

Oh Goddess whose form is beyond illusion, please  protect me.

The phrase, "maa Guru guha swamiki ne dasudaithi," in the samashTi caraNam indicates that the composer is really Ponnaiah PiLlai, a descendant of the ThanjAvUr Quartet whose guru was Muttuswami Dikshithar who used the mudra "guru guha". The words "guruguha swami" refers to Muttuswami Dikshithar. Since his forefathers were "dAsAs" of MD the composer also considers himself a dAsan of MD.
