Ramanukku Mannan

Ramanukku Mannan

By
Arunachala Kavi Rayar

Translated by
P.R.Ramachander

Ragam Hindolam
Talam Aadhi

(Public hail Rama as crown prince... )

Ramanukku Mannan Mudi Thariththaaley
Nanmai undorukkaaley

Because    the king   crowned Rama ,
There are lot of benefits for us

Paamaraney unakku ennadi pechu
Pazham nazhuvi paalil vizhundaarpol aachey

Hey ordinary one  what is the need for your talk,
It is as if the  banana fruit slipped  and fell in side the milk.

Parasuraman garvam theerthavandi avan
Nammai ellam kaappavandee
Pattam Katta Etravandi naalu peril
Moothavandi avandee en kanmani...

He is the one who destroyed pride of Parasurama,
He would definitely protect all of us, dear ,
He is the most suitable to be crowned among the four ,

That darling  is the eldest among all of them.

Wrong meaning. It means, "if Rama is crowned as the king we will all benefit" mannan mudi has to be taken together which means the kingly crown. Here mannan does not refer to the king who would crown Rama. "thariththal" is an intransitive verb.

  2. This is a part of Rama Nataka Keerthanai . There is a note that it is sung by people when they heard about the news of Rama's crowning. My meaning as well as that given by Sri Narada seems to be both OK

  4. This is a dialogue of kaikeyi with Manthara, telling her of Rama's gretaness and that Manthara should keep shut. Kaikeyi talks about how rama is dear to her. This is before her change of heart.
