Guru leka   yetu vandi,

Guniki  theliyaka pothu

Without a Guru , the  brainiest person,

Will not understand any thing.

Karukaina   hrud roga   suhanamunu kotta sath

Anupallavi

It is proper to cut off the  dense forest 

Which is the diseases of the heart which pricks like thorn.

Thanuvu  suthadhana Dara Dayaadhi  Bandhavulu,

Janiyinchi chetharu  jalini  karunatho,

Manasuna andaka  cheyu mandhanusu  thathwa bho,

Dhana chesi  Kapada Thyagaraja apthudanu

The Body , children, wealth  , wife clan members  and relatives,

Would go away with pain  generated   withis us , With mercy ,

But the medicince which prevents these   from attaching to us ,

And the friend  Thyagaraja  would be  protecting  us by  teaching of philosophy
